Tugford Farm Blog
22nd November 2021The temperature has dropped and winter is really knocking on the door but 2022 is also just round the corner. Bookings are coming in already with key dates being taken so be that early bird and contact us sooner rather than later and don't risk disappointment.
27th September 2021It's a sign of how busy we've been this Summer that the last blog I had time to do was just as we opened up after the lock downs! It's been great fun! We;'ve welcomed back many returnee customers who have become old friends - you know who you are folks!
13th May 2021It's so lovely welcoming guests back and having the sounds of happy holidaying people resonate around the court yard and hot tub area. The surrounding countryside is greening up and the hedgerow flowers are now abundant. The summer months are fairly busy but do check out our availability pages and squeeze a mini break in if nothing else. There's plenty to keep everyone occupied from walking, cycling, horse riding, outdoor adventure activities at local outdoor pursuit centres and plenty of relaxing at the end of the day in the hot tub too. See you soon. Bronwen
2nd March 2021We are so looking forward to welcoming everyone back. From the 12th April we can open the doors to our Self Catering properties for 1 household per property and two households per property along with B&B from 17th May. The 21st June is a free for all and all things being equal we will see the end to all government regulations. The diary is filling up and guests obviously like our flexible cancellation policy so do get in touch to reserve your preferred dates as soon as possible. We are delighted to announce that our Curlews have returned already this year - 3 spotted so far so Spring is definitely here! Last year we raised a family successfully by fencing off a large area around the nest to stop ground predators like foxes and badgers eating the eggs. We hope to do the same this year but don't expect to be able to visit the site as we keep it very secret for the Curlews sake. You will know they are about though when you hear their distinctive bubbling call when in flight.
19th January 2021We hope you are all keeping safe and well. Enquiries have started to come in again and people are clearly feeling more optimistic. The one thing about us Brits is our determination not to let things stop us. This is clearly evident in the 'good news' stories seen on TV but also on your door step. Farming life goes on regardless of what is happening in the world. The sheep are munching their way through to the Spring when their lambs will arrive and the horses are tucked up each night in their stables and providing me with great escapism exercise during the day. You only have to look in the hedgerows to see things are starting to grow and the days are definitely getting longer. We all need something to look forward to so let's chat and get some dates in the diary for you.
