September Bliss

Everyone but us is combining! Our corn is just not quite ripe enough and so we wait. It'll all come together when it does.

We lost Widget this morning only to find her curled up on Wyndhams dirty washing in the laundry room - Lovely!

Philip has one week left at home before he heads off to St Albans to start his new job. He's just worked his last shift ever for The Ludlow Catering Company. I'm sure Willem and Pippa will really miss him.

The fat boys, Roy and Ben (horses) are looking a little less fat and being exercised each day. They are really pleased to be back in work and hang around the gate in the mornings until I come to get them.

Coral aka The Baked Bean (horse) is working well and has recovered from her goat climbing expedition in The Brecon Beacons. A long story!

One of my main aims this week is to get out and pick loads of blackberrries which are laden in the hedge rows around the farm together with the apples from the orchard should, if I get round to it, result in some nice apple and blackberry crumbles.

Blog - the latest from Tugford Farm Accommodation in Shropshire...

Lambing time in beautiful Spring sunshine! It's been a blast up til now with great conditions to turn our new arrivals out on to fresh grass. The Curlews that nested last year and successfully raised 4 chicks are back. We're watching them to see if they choose the same spot, in the same field and will do what we did last year, put electric fencing around the area to stop Badgers and Foxes eating the eggs. We'll keep our fingers crossed and update you on their progress. We have our first equine visitors this week who have had to dodge the council laying super smart tarmac everywhere. We're going to be very posh in the Corvedale you know! Brexit is driving everyone nuts so we suggest you pack your bags and hide out here in our little corner of rural South Shropshire. Light the fire in Meal House and turn off those phones to totally relax - at least for a day or two. Give us a ring or email and come see Spring erupting in little Tugford.
