British Summer Time

The sun has shone and all our new baby lambs and their mothers have been basking in its rays. The quad bike with the maternity wagon attached has been busy delivering the new arrivals and their mothers back into the fields from the lambing sheds. The hedgerows are full of primroses and if you look carefully, blue and white violets too. The hunting horses have had their shoes taken off and are now out full time enjoying their well earned rest. Roy has even started to put weight on and will fast become comparible to an elephant if we don't watch it! Widget and Big Bill have been busy patrolling the banks by the house as the rabbits have started to spring clean their holes, throwing out last years beds to make room for the new ones. So winter is out and we seem to have bypassed spring and are straight into summer but it does put a smile on your face when you have days like these.

Blog - the latest from Tugford Farm Accommodation in Shropshire...

Lambing time in beautiful Spring sunshine! It's been a blast up til now with great conditions to turn our new arrivals out on to fresh grass. The Curlews that nested last year and successfully raised 4 chicks are back. We're watching them to see if they choose the same spot, in the same field and will do what we did last year, put electric fencing around the area to stop Badgers and Foxes eating the eggs. We'll keep our fingers crossed and update you on their progress. We have our first equine visitors this week who have had to dodge the council laying super smart tarmac everywhere. We're going to be very posh in the Corvedale you know! Brexit is driving everyone nuts so we suggest you pack your bags and hide out here in our little corner of rural South Shropshire. Light the fire in Meal House and turn off those phones to totally relax - at least for a day or two. Give us a ring or email and come see Spring erupting in little Tugford.
