Summer Time

Summer Time

The sheep have been shawn and are much happier now that they have their summer clothes on. The grass is growing fast at last and hopefully we will be able to harvest our first crop of haylage soon.

Widget and Big Bill have been busy barking their hellos to all the passing walkers and cyclists and the hound puppies are finding that now they are older they can walk further before flopping down for a rest.

Those of you who were aware of my contstant training for the coast to coast cyle ride will be pleased to hear that I completed it along with 6 friends. 130 miles over three days and lots of laughs! Have a look at the start and finish photos in the Photo Gallery.

Talking to neighbouring farmers when we were herding their two cows, which had escaped onto our top field, the general feeling was that the spring crops will definitely have been affected by the lack of rain at the crucial time of planting but that's farming for you so the ever changing challenges keep coming.
